The project on the application of remote sensing technologies to enhance environmental investigation ability of year 2018

Absrtact
This project aims at applying historical satellite imagery, as well as images acquired from Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) and LiDAR to monitor environmental pollution. The objective of this project is to apply remote sensing technology to environmental investigations. The imagery data can be used as the evidence to clarify liabilities on the damages caused. 1.The accomplishments in the project in 2018 include using remote sensing technology (satellite images) to carry out a 7-time data and evidence collection events for Environmental Protection Administration (including using unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) acquisition for 6 times and light detection and ranging (LIDAR) for 1 time). The incidents include waste disposal cases and environmental investigations. 2.Holding training workshops and seminars using the application on remote sensing technology, including 6-time of UAS operation training on site and 1-time LiDAR operation training on site. UAS and LiDAR characteristics and application timing were also introduced to the EPA technicians and field investigators.
